Summer time is here, although kids are out of school the summer vacation will end rather soon, it will be time to return to school in a few short weeks. DIP understands the importance of preparing for less fortunate youth to return to school for the 2019-2020 school year with full of pride and dignity. By collecting new and gently used clothing, school supplies, under garments, socks, and other necessities. DIP has put hundreds of smiles on kids faces. Donations of these items are now being collected and can be dropped off to DIP Outreach & Thiftique located 2078 Cassat Avenue Jacksonville, FL or by making a donation online at www.Dipfoundation.org Corporate and individual sponsors are welcome to support this cause. The Divine Intervention & Prevention also know as (DIP) an outreach ministry for the prevention of domestic violence/abuse & hunger who has helped over 2,500 families in need is hosting the II Annual Tools 4 School Supply & Clothing Giveaway to lend a helping hand to students ages 4-18 that are in need. The event will be held at D.I.P. Outreach 2078 Cassat Ave Jacksonville, FL 32210 on Saturday August 4th @ 10am. The average cost for back to school supplies and clothing is approximately $1500 according to NBC news, that is just as much as the average mortgage payment for many individuals. According to NCCP.org children make up 34 percent of people in poverty. Most low- income families have to look to the government for assistance, food, clothing, and other necessities such as; hygiene items and school supplies that are needed for children; many times this issue is not addressed on a regular basis or plaintively at all. No child wants to go to school without the proper clothing, shoes, or school supplies. The less fortunate seem to be one of the first to be bullied as a result of this particular lack. The community can support Tools 4 School Jax by donating gently used clothing, shoes, handbags, backpacks, costume jewelry, personal care items, new socks, & underwear, for all ages. For a detailed list visit www.facebook.com/diprestores or call (904) 438-4347. DIP invigorates community supporters to do a good deed by making a contribution to DIP Outreach by visiting www.Dipfoundation.org website or simply Cash app @Dipfoundation.Your contribution will help to motivate both the parents and their children who are in need, whereby letting them know that they are not alone. Your donation will also help the youth mentally by boosting their overall self esteem. “When you look good, you feel good. Confidence with what you’re wearing is very important. If you feel good, you will always perform your best without worrying about anything- Maria Sharapova.” Here is an opportunity to help with giving over 300 students the supplies they need for a successful school year as, these children cannot reach their full potential without adequate support. As we come to the close of the first quarter in the year many have yet to accomplish goal set in the beginning of the year, while others have already set aside the goals set. Their reasons can vary from busyness, low-self esteem, fear, or perhaps a loss of hope due to their current circumstances. The Reboot your vision campaign is set to launch on May 19th to inspire individuals to rebuild, restart, rediscover, and recharge. Attendees will do this by creating their own vision board using a collage of inspiring pictures, motivating quotes, personal affirmations, and powerful words from magazines and print mediums. To that collage you can add personal photos, decorative lettering, and various embellishments to decorative lettering, and various embellishments to personalize their boards. Individuals will get their visions out of their head and have a greater clarity for the rest of 2018 & 2019. This is a great way to network and to bask in an atmosphere of positivism. Refreshments and vision board materials will be provided. However, RSVP is required via email to [email protected] Media inquiries or to make a monetary, food, or in kind donation call (904) 438-4347 for information visit www.dipfoundation.org |

Community Violence Awareness Event & Balloon Release -Good Friday
Posted on March 26, 2018 at 3:21 PM |

Violence continues to escalate in our cities and nation, unfortunately there seems to be a massive separation in our communities between those who are focusing on solutions to empower those who are mourning and those who are blaming each other, societal issues, and legislation for allowing violent tragedies to occur. Meanwhile, parents and family members who have lost a loved one are looking for ways to cope and mend their shattered hearts. What if our focus was shifted from accusing our fellows to bridging the “blaming gap” with Love? Dr. Martin Luther King boldly proclaimed, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” We need the power of love now more than ever. Jacksonville in particular has lost several winsome and talented children to gun and domestic violence, Connor Mickens is one of those children. Although it has been five months since he was shot in the head the pain still lingers; blaming those who should have, or could have done this or that will not bring precious Connor back. Our factions can no longer play the “blame game,” therefore we ought to refocus and eradicate brute force through unceasing violence prevention themes, prayer, community outreach events, and advocacy. Our core objective as a community should be to stand united in love. There are three ways dignitaries and community proponents can encourage those who are still grieving: through common acts of love, kindness, and commitment to raise awareness about perpetrators who use violence as a panacea; that is destroying communities filled with innocent children who have been shot, killed, beaten and raped to death. On Good Friday March 30th, at 12PM D.I.P. Outreach Ministry is inviting community members, leaders, and media outlets to the balloon release ceremony in memory Connor Mickens and other youth in our city who have loss their life to barbarity. Afterwards kids will be served lunch and can participate in Easter activities such as egg decorating and hula hoop contest, games, raffles, face painting, and story time. RSVP The goal of this event is to raise awareness and funds to continue the organization's mission of violence prevention and to pray as a community. Food and drinks will be available for donations. About D.I.P. Foundation Outreach is a non for profit organization that educates Children, families, and communities on domestic prevention. DIP also provides food, clothing, and other necessities to impoverished and abused children and families. The organization has helped over 2500 families through their Heal A Heart Outreach. For more information visit www.Dipfoundation.org or call (904) 438-4347 Donations and Volunteers are welcome. Event will be held at DIP Outreach & Donation Center 2078 Cassat Ave. Jacksonville, FL 32210 ( between Blanding & San Juan) |
